$75K raised for Susan G. Komen® Miami/Fort Lauderdale during 6th Annual InterContinental at Doral Miami Together in Pink Zumbathon®
One hundred percent of the proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen® Miami/Fort Lauderdale
DORAL, FL – October 29, 2016 – $75,000.00 had been raised between donation, tickets sales, and in-kind contribution, announced InterContinental at Doral Miami during its 6th annual Together in Pink Zumbathon® event of which 100 percent benefit Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.
In order to reach their goal, the hotel is partnered with vendors and solicited the community’s support, and offered specials in the restaurant and lounge as well as provided guests an opportunity to make a donation at check out. Donation packages were available and tickets for the Zumbathon® were sold online via Eventbrite.
Over $25,000.00 was presented to Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale during the event. The hotel and Zumba® Fitness agree it has been a stellar fundraising year. “We could not have done it without the support of the Zumba® Fitness instructors and the following donors: MEC Fitness, PSAV, Brown & Brown, Fit by Haydee Dance & Fitness Studio, Albizu University, Palmetto General Hospital, Westland Mall, Doral Farmers Market, Befree Media, Sysco, Stella Artois, Minuteman Press of Miami, Sir Speedy of Miami Lakes, and of course the participants who purchased tickets or made donations,” said Randal Pasut, General Manager of InterContinental at Doral Miami.
For the past 5 years, the Doral hotel has hosted a Zumbathon® where hundreds of Zumba® enthusiasts dance for 90 minutes with the sole purpose of raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. This year, the monies raised will be put towards local hospitals and community organizations that serve Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties as well as fund ground breaking breast cancer research.
