Jencarlos Canela owes himself to music.

It all started when Jencarlos was seven years old and asked his parents to let him sing at a party they were organizing at their home, he did it, and from that moment he began to take piano, guitar, and percussion classes.

The first song he wrote as a kid was a disaster (according to him) but he was inspired watching his dad writing as a hobby. It was not easy at first, many doors were closed; but he never asked why, he just saw it as a part of life, part of the process of learning from mistakes, becoming stronger, and keep moving forward…

Today, with only 23 years of age, he enjoys international fame due to his perseverance and that of his father, who never stopped believing in him. “ If he had not been so perseverant I would have never accomplished anything, I never imagined life without music but he definitely helped me to take a step forward rather than backwards” Jencarlos said.

He enjoys going to movie theatres and loves to eat, he has no preference in the food, as long as it tastes good he will enjoy it. One of his life goals is to sing with the great Juan Luis Guerra and to one day be able to go to Hollywood and make movies, a project he will start following his new album’s tour, because for Canela, nothing is impossible.

DFJ- Jencarlos If you had to choose between music and acting, which one will you stick to?

JC- Definitely with music… It is what I have always done, music occupies a space in my soul that cannot be replaced with anything, it is much more than a way of life, it is a form of expression, a way to vent, it is therapy, nourishment, evolution, I owe a great part of who I am to music.

DFJ- what is your message to the youth who, like you, want to pursue careers in acting?

JC- Put forth lots of effort, do not look at it as a profession and the most important thing is to not let yourself get stepped on and never stop believing.

What he looks for in a woman is for her to be authentic, sincere, someone who knows what she wants from life, makes her own decisions and understands what is important in a relationship and above all she must be very passionate to conquer his heart forever.

There is a very special connection between him and his fans, he assures us that in his concerts, he gets more excited than they do, and he greatly appreciates their manifestations of love, they are the best possible gift.    His perfect moment is when he is on stage, with people he has never met, from different religions, cultures, and race but with one thing in common, the love for music, it is magical.

DFJ- Jencarlos your single “Mi Corazon Insiste”, is the theme for the new Telemundo production, what does your heart insist in?

JC- My heart insists in my family, in living passionately, in creating a better version of life, in learning my truth and that of others, in starting friendships, in singing and acting, my heart is very demanding.

DFJ- You recently released your new album titled “Mi nuevo dia”, how do you feel, and how is your “new day”?

JC- Well truthfully I feel incredible; I was able to sing with Pitbull, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Jose Feliciano, and I really learned a lot from them. In respect to the title, its meaning is that one has to live life, not like if it was just another day but as if it was a brand new day, give lots of love to your family and live life to the fullest because you never know what is coming tomorrow.

Upon his departure he told us with a lot of passion that we make sure that a huge hug and his words “I LOVE YOU GUYS” reached all of his fans.

Jencarlos Canela se debe a la música.

Todo comenzó a los siete años cuando Jencarlos les pidió a sus papas que lo dejaran cantar en la fiesta que estaban organizando en su casa, lo hizo, y desde ese momento comenzaron para el  las clases de piano, guitarra y percusión.

 La primera canción que escribió de niño fue un desastre (dice el) pero se inspiró viendo a su papá como escribía por hobby. Al principio nada le fue fácil, muchas puertas se cerraron, el porqué, ni siguiera se lo pregunto nunca, solo lo vio como parte del proceso de la vida, parte del proceso en el que uno tiene que aprender de las caídas, fortalecerse y seguir adelante…

Hoy con solo 23 años, goza de una fama internacional gracias a su perseverancia y la de su papá que siempre creyó en el. “Si él no llega a ser perseverante yo no hubiera logrado nada, nunca imagine la vida sin música pero definitivamente él me ayudo a dar el paso hacia arriba y no hacia abajo” nos comenta Jencarlos.

Le gusta el cine y le encanta comer, no tiene preferencia si la comida esta rica el  la disfruta al máximo. Una de sus metas es cantar con el maestro Juan Luis Guerra y llegar algún día a Hollywood para hacer cine, proyecto que llevara a cabo después de la gira de su nuevo disco, y es que para Canela no hay nada imposible.

DFJ- Jencarlos si te dieran a escoger entre la música y la actuación ¿Con cuál te quedarías?

JC- Definitivamente con la música… Es lo que siempre he hecho, la música ocupa un espacio en mi alma que no lo remplaza nada, mucho más que un estilo de vida, es una forma de expresión, una forma de desahogo, es terapia, alimento, evolución, una gran parte de quien soy se lo debo a la música.

DFJ- ¿Cuál sería tu mensaje para los jóvenes que al igual que tu quieren hacer carreras de actuación?

JC- Que le pongan muchas ganas, que no lo vean como una profesión y lo más importante que no se dejen aplastar y nunca dejen de creer.

Lo que espera de una mujer es que sea autentica, sincera, que sepa lo que quiere en la vida, que tenga decisión propia y que entienda lo importante de una relación y sobre todas las cosas que sea muy apasionada con esto conquistara su corazón para siempre.

Entre sus fans y él existe una conexión muy especial, asegura que en los conciertos, él se emociona más que ellas, las manifestaciones de amor que ellas le dan lo aprecia mucho, son su mejor regalo.   Su momento perfecto es cuando está en el escenario, con personas que no conoce, de diferentes religiones, culturas y color de piel pero que todos tienen una cosa en común, el amor a la música y eso es mágico.

 DFJ- Jencarlos tu sencillo “Mi corazón Insiste”, es el tema de la nueva producción de Telemundo ¿En que insiste tu corazón?

JC- Mi corazón insiste en mi familia, en vivir apasionadamente, en crear una mejor versión de la vida, en aprender de mi verdad y de la de otros, en sembrar amistades, en actuar en cantar, mi corazón es muy insistente.

DFJ- Recientemente lanzaste tu nuevo CD que lleva por título “Mi nuevo día” ¿Cómo te sientes y como es tu nuevo día?

JC- Pues en realidad me siento increíble;  En esta producción pude cantar con Pitbull, Gilberto Santa Rosa, José Feliciano y la verdad aprendí mucho de ellos, con respecto al título su significado  es que hay que vivir la vida, no como si fuera un día más sino como si fuera un nuevo día, darle mucho amor a la familia y vivir a plenitud porque no sabemos que pasara mañana.

Al despedirnos nos encargó con mucho afán que le hiciéramos llegar a todo su pueblo un cálido abrazo y dos palabras, “LOS QUIERO MUCHO”.
