Miami International Mall partners with City of Doral to host 10TH ANNUAL HISPANIC HERITAGE CELEBRATION.

Hispanic Culture and fall fashion come alive at Miami International Mall with the Tenth Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Sunday, September 28 from 1 – 7 p.m., created in partnership with the City of Doral.  The community will experience the diverse cultures and uniqueness of more than 20 Latin countries in Central America, South America and the Caribbean through show-stopping musical and cultural performances, fashion presentations, country exhibits and culinary treats provided by local restaurants and caterers. Amidst the colorful, energetic fashion presentations and interactive entertainment, local leaders will be recognized during the Hispanic Star Awards.

“Miami International Mall is proud to present this popular event to our community,” said Alein Cadalso, mall manager, Miami International Mall. “This year’s theme, ‘Discovery’, celebrates the variety of cultures within the Hispanic community.”

On Sunday, September 28, Miami International Mall will kick off this free, dynamic celebration of style, spotlighting must-have trends for fall from fashionable Miami International Mall retailers including, Cache, Tarbay, Agaci, Macy’s, Perry Ellis, Cubavera and Pandora.

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration, presented by Miami Dade Community College and sponsored by the Doral Family Journal, Jackson Health System, Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, also provides the opportunity to showcase authentic Hispanic arts and crafts exhibits, followed by exciting product giveaways. Performances include: Cuban Artist Daniel Martin, Puerto Rican Artist Raquel Sophia, Conjunto Aires Panameños Kids, and Dominican Actor/Singer Aneudi Lara, Ex- Menudo Daniel Rene and more.

Guests wishing to taste the delicious bites and beverages throughout the mall are encouraged to purchase a $15 ticket, which will grant unlimited samplings, or a $20 ticket, which will grant access to the VIP Area. All proceeds from the purchased tickets will benefit local charities and the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF).

Each Hispanic Star Award nominee will be recognized for their selfless contributions to their communities. The honorees will be recognized in front of local dignitaries, community leaders, prominent media, family and friends through a spectacular runway fashion show.  Additionally, guests are invited to sample tasty delights and refreshments from Coca Cola, Chili’s, Divieto’s Ristorante, Carolina Ale House, La Nueva San Salvador Restaurant, El Divino Ceviche, The Knife Restaurant, San Ignacio College, Sabor Venezolano, Gran Pollo, The Original Spanish Paella Co., Le Café Limoge, Los Ranchos, Starbucks, AVS Connection, Kal South Miami Distributors and more.

The Hispanic Star Award will consist of six categories:

1)         Hispanic Educator

2)         Hispanic Health Professional

3)         Hispanic Philanthropist

4)         Junior Hispanic Community Leader between the ages of 16 -19

5)         Hispanic Small Business Leader

6)         Hispanic Artist
