Doral Cadet Squadron held the cadet promotion ceremony

DORAL, FL – The Doral Cadet Squadron Commander first Lt. Idania Llanio, the deputy commander second Lt. Ettore Sabatella, and staff held the cadet promotion ceremony in which 17 cadets were promoted under the leadership of Squadron Commander Lt Idania Llanio.

The event took place at the City of Doral Police Substation at 3719 NW 97th Ave, Doral, Fl 33178. In attendance were over 100 guests, including Lt. Col Trevor H Stewart, FLWG Group 7 Public, Sweetwater Chief of Police, Doral, Medley and Sweetwater councilmembers, and Sandra Figueiredo, who is the editor-in-chief of Doral Family Journal, sponsor company.

During the cadet promotion ceremony, attendees were able to see a presentation of the Squadron’s work in its first year as well as the delivery of four flags waved at the United States Capitol honoring outstanding people in charge of the Amavex organization and its director Helene Villalonga together with the office of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of the 23rd District of Florida.

The purpose of the latter was highlighting a group of community leaders and personalities on the occasion of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage month in the United States, honored for their trajectories in favor of the community.

The promotions of United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol cadets can be done through different levels and may vary based on individual cadet performance and specific CAP policies. Also, these are based on meeting specific requirements, including academic performance, leadership assessments, physical performance, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

TSGT Noel Feliciano, who was the master of ceremony, explained to the attendees that the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is an auxiliary organization of the United States Air Force that offers numerous benefits to its members. Some of these benefits include:

1. Personal development: CAP promotes the development of leadership skills, teamwork, discipline, and ethics in its members, which can represent an advantage for their personal and professional growth.
2. Training and Education: CAP offers a wide range of training and educational programs in areas such as aerospace, search and rescue, emergency management, communications and more. These programs provide opportunities for learning and developing technical skills.
3. Flight Opportunities: CAP members have the opportunity to participate in training flights and search and rescue missions. This allows them to gain aviation experience and develop skills related to flying and navigation.
4. Scholarships and Educational Opportunities: CAP offers scholarships and educational opportunities to its members, including scholarships for college education and special programs such as the National Cadet Flight Program.
5. Community Service: CAP encourages community service and provides its members with the opportunity to participate in community support activities such as search and rescue missions, disaster relief, aerospace education programs and more.
6. Networking: CAP membership helps to network and connect with like-minded individuals, including military personnel and other aviation and security related professionals.

First Commander Llanio congratulated the cadets on their graduation ceremony as she considers this to be a significant achievement and one deserving of celebration. “I wish you all much success in your future adventures, and I am sure you have gained valuable skills during your time on the program.”
