“A hero is someone who sacrifices his or her needs in benefit of others “,  Christopher Vogler.

Politicians or superheroes? To defeat evil, defend our communities, ensure freedom, seek justice and find the truth … these are some of the mottos that surround the universe of any comic superhero, as well as of any candidate that is seeking to obtain a seat during an election year; and that after being elected, he or she will have the responsibility of leading a country or a city.

This is the theme of our cover! Although it is necessary to clarify that in it we are not matching any particular candidate with a specific superhero character. This is just a figurative way of expressing our view of what is currently happening.

The eleven candidates for the City of Doral are somehow emblematic central characters with new ideals, fresh models of  attitude and personal growth, examples of dedication and effort, of persistent and excessive altruism.

On one hand, there are candidates that have matured with their extraordinary performance, that have adopted a role of representing our community and have worked fearlessly to defend the rights of its citizens; on the other hand, there are contenders with more experience, that in times of confusion and conflict, have been able to channel their values and actions to serve as guides in order to overcome and solve local problems…

In the following pages, you will get to know better the candidates for the City of Doral Council, by learning about their values and personality.

Confidence, certainty of winning, optimism, easiness and power are some of the qualities that you will find throughout these interviews.

This is a good opportunity for you as a voter, to get to know more about the human and personal side of each of the candidates who opt for different council seats of the City of Doral; elections that will be held this coming November 6th.

Bear in mind that one of the most significant ways that citizens have to influence decisions of our government is by voting … And you can also be a superhero by exercising your vote!

Conflict resolution and the satisfaction of the plurality of common interests of those who deliberate on public affairs, and of those who implement the right decisions, is difficult to achieve in a transparent manner if there is an absence of ethical values! To be successful in politics it is necessary to have leaders who possess an upright conduct since they will build the guidelines and represent us.

Voting is not a game! This is an important commitment to our city, to you and your family because an informed vote is going to help improve Doral.

Here are the three candidates running for the Mayor’s chair: Frank Bolaños,  Pete Cabrera  and  Luigi Boria.

And the eight candidates for council: Elena Ortega-Tauler , Sandra Ruiz and  Carlos Ruiz  for chair # 1; Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera  and  Clemente Vera  for chair # 2, and Robert Van Name,  Bibiana Salmon,  Christi Fraga, competing for chair #3.

All with a common goal: Public Service!

Fuertes y Unidos para el Servicio Público.

 

“Un Héroe es alguien capaz de sacrificar sus propias necesidades en beneficio de los demás”, Christopher Vogler

¿Políticos o superhéroes? Vencer al mal, defender a su comunidad, velar por la libertad, hacer valer la justicia y la verdad, son algunas de las consignas que enarbola el universo del cómic y las de cualquier candidato para cualquier escaño en pleno año electoral, que al ser electo, será responsable de liderar un país o una ciudad.

Con esto  no se trata de identificar a un candidato en particular con el superhéroe en cuestión. Esto es sólo una manera figurativa de expresar nuestra visión de lo que está pasando.

Los once candidatos de la Ciudad de Doral son de alguna manera simbólica, los protagonistas de nuevos ideales, modelos de conducta, superación, ejemplo de entrega, esfuerzo, recursividad y altruismo desmedido.

Por un lado, han florecido personajes de notable actuación, que se arrogan por la representación de vecinos y se lanzan temerariamente a defender los derechos de la comunidad; y por otro lado, hay candidatos con un poco mas de experiencia, que en ocasiones y en épocas de confusión y conflictos, han canalizado sus valores y acciones  para servir como guías a la comunidad a superar y resolver los problemas locales.

Aquí usted podrá conocer a los candidatos para el Concejo de Doral, delineando el aspecto y la personalidad de cada uno de ellos.

Seguros de sí mismos, seguros de ganar, optimistas, descansados y poderosos son algunas de las cualidades que usted encontrará durante las entrevistas.

Esta es una buena oportunidad para que usted como votante, conozca la faceta más humana y personal de cada uno de los candidatos que optan por los diferentes escaños para la Alcaldía de  la Ciudad de Doral a celebrarse el 6 de noviembre de este año.

Recuerde que uno de los modos más críticos que las personas tienen para influir en la toma de decisiones de los gobiernos es votando; Y usted también puede ser un superhéroe ejerciendo su voto!

La resolución de conflictos y la satisfacción de la pluralidad de intereses comunes por quienes deliberan sobre los asuntos públicos, y por quienes ejecutan las decisiones, es difícil de alcanzar de manera transparente si se carece de valores sobretodo, éticos!  Para lograr buenos resultados en la política y en la gestión pública se requiere contar con gobernantes que posean una conducta íntegra pues son ellos quienes marcan las directrices y nos representan.

El voto no es un juego!!  Es algo importante, un compromiso con su Ciudad, con usted y su familia porque con un voto informado va a ayudar a que Doral sea mucho mejor”.

He aquí los tres candidatos que corren por la silla del Alcalde: Frank Bolaños, Pete Cabrera, y  Luigi Boria.

Y los ocho candidatos a concejales: Elena Ortega-Tauler,  Sandra Ruiz, Carlos Ruiz por la silla # 1; Bettina Rodríguez Aguilera y  Clemente Vera por la silla # 2;  y  Robert Van name, Bibiana Salmon, Christi Fraga, que compiten por la silla 3.

Todos con un solo objetivo: El Servicio Público!!!
