FBI Charges and Arrest Mayor Pizzi of Miami Lakes and Mayor Maroño of Sweetwater.

The FBI arrested Mayor Michael Pizzi of Miami Lakes and Mayor Manuel “Manny” Maroño this morning at the offices of City Hall in their respective cities on bribery related charges. Both mayors have been are scheduled to appear in Miami Federal court Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Pizzi is serving a seond term as Mayor of Miami Lakes and is also an attorney who has worked many high profile cases. Mayor Marono is currently serving as the President of the Florida League of Cities as well as Mayor of Sweetwater. Marono along with Jorge Forte launched a public affairs and business development firm.
