Governor Ron DeSantis will sign a statewide stay at home order
DORAL, FL – Governor Ron DeSantis announced just recently that he will be signing an executive order today directing all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside home.
According to Florida’s leader, the stay at home order will imply that people could only leave home to obtain essential services and supplies such as food and medications.
The essential services and activities that DeSantis is referring to are listed and detailed in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in its latest guidance.
According to Sun Sentinel, this decision came hours after U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said in a TV interview that national guidelines essentially mean “there is a stay-at-home order” for everyone in the country.
“We’ve been working on this devoting a lot of resources to Southeast, Florida…at this point even though there’s a lot of places in Florida that have very low infection rate, it makes sense to make this move now,” said the Governor during his intervention.
The new order that will officially come out in a moment, will take effect today at midnight and will be in place for the next 30 days.
