Nicole Reinoso was elected for Doral Council Seat 3

DORAL, FL – Doral Council Seat 3 now has a new member as Nicole Reinoso won the runoff elections on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The elected councilmember obtained 2,730 votes (68.61%), while her opponent, Juan Carlos Esquivel, received 1,249 votes (31.39%) for a total of 3,979 votes. The other candidate for the position, Irina Vilarino, was left out of the race during Nov. 5 elections.

It should be noted that out of the 35,994 registered voters ready to vote on 12 precincts across the city, only 3,989 cast their ballots. Voter turnout was of 11.08%.

This was the final runoff elections held at City of Doral following the approval with 51.30% of an amendment at November elections to eliminate the municipality’s runoff elections.

Born in Puerto Rico and of Cuban descent, the Doral Council Seat 3 newly elected member began her career in 2010 as a case manager for Rubenstein Law. In 2019, Reinoso arrived at the City of Doral as a legislative analyst for Christi Fraga, reelected for Mayor on Nov.5, when she was a councilwoman.

Later, she joined the Miami-Dade County Public Schools in 2020 as chief of staff until 2023. Before running for Doral Council, Nicole Reinoso was the executive director for Land Use & Intergovernmental Affairs of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Reinoso studied health services administration at Miami Dade College and Florida International University, an MBA at Florida International University, and a juris doctorate at St. Thomas University.

Nicole aspires to enrich the lives of Doral’s seniors by providing them with more engaging activities and fostering partnerships with community organizations.

She is committed to advocating for children, including those with special needs, by utilizing Doral’s parks and resources to ensure they can access the support and opportunities they deserve.
