The City of Doral Police Department will distribute Thanksgiving Turkeys.
DORAL, FL – Among the activities that the City of Doral has programmed for the Holiday season, is the traditional delivery of turkeys. Rey Valdes, a spokesman for the Doral Police Department, stated that this year the city will distribute a total of 500 turkeys, 200 of which are being donated by the City of Doral and 300 by the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, represented by Councilman Talbert Cypress.
“In charge of the coordination of this distribution is Lieutenant Daniel Muñecas, who has been very efficient controlling all the operative part of this distribution of turkeys to the religious organizations and schools in Doral. These organizations are the ones in charge of identifying those families that are the neediest from our community, to be the ones chosen to receive a turkey and canned food that will help with the garnishes.”
The delivery of the turkeys to religious institutions and churches will take place at the Doral Police Community Center on November 21st, 2019; at the schools, the turkeys will be delivered by the police officers as part of their community service with the assistance of the local stores that are assisting with the transportation service.
