Donald Trump elected United States’ 47th President
Republicans won the Senate. House still up for grabs
After a grueling campaign, the early hours of Wednesday November 6th confirmed that Donald Trump won the popular vote with 71,290,103 ballots, and raided on the battleground states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia to achieve the 277 electoral votes, becoming the 47th President-elect of the United States.
Republicans also won the majority in the Senate with 52 seats, are on the way of winning the House with 198 seats and have 27 Governors. With that power at all levels of government, and a conservative Court, Republicans have all the elements needed to fulfil electoral promises and establish their agenda for the country.
Early analysis of the demographics showed that black and Latino men overwhelmingly supported Trump over Harris. White suburban women also supported him, even though they had been on the verge of changing sides earlier, until he modified his stance on reproductive rights in the final stages of the campaign.
It is expected that these results will be conducive to a peaceful transition of power, with a January 6th confirmation in the Congress and that coming January 20th Mr. Trump will be inaugurated and move back to the White House.
