Candidate for Doral City Council / Seat #3 . CPA with a Master in Finance and Business, futuristic vision, ambitious ideas, energetic and positive person.

With a sweet and positive way to make express herself, talking with Christi Fraga is a very pleasant experience. With a Cuban heritage on both sides of the family, she was born and raised in Miami. Fraga has been known as the “bond of the family… the one who keeps everybody together”. With a twinkle in her eye and excitement in her tone, she talks about her family and how her parents, despite their separation, decided to maintain harmony by celebrating every achievement and every holiday together. She considers herself a friendly and loyal person, with a limited but truly sincere list of friends.
Since early in her childhood, Christi was very determined when setting her goals in life. Her outstanding academic performance and university degrees are the product of the curriculum of St. Brendan High School and Florida International University where she got involved in leadership and community service as a mentor, participating in several youth programs and serving as the class representative for many years. She has always had clear objectives. “I always wanted to graduate from college. I always knew I wanted to have a family, kids, my own business and I’m very proud of the business that I have today.”
While still in high school, Christi started her first business in the trunk of her car buying and selling clothes from New York and California. Although, it wasn’t as good as she thought it would be because of the economic situation at that time, that experience helped her strive even more and enthusiastically try again later. Thus, after getting her diploma and waking up the business motion inside her, Fraga began bookkeeping for different companies, getting contacts and experience and after a period of time she started her own company offering comprehensive accounting, consulting, and professional presence for the overall economic operations of her customers. Along with her family, she also manages other plumbing and discounts service companies in the Doral, Miami-Dade and Broward areas.
Happily married for two years and with “a lot in common”, as she says, Christi and her husband share more than just economic responsibilities, they give unconditional support to each other. “People commonly ask us if we get tired of spending so much time together, at work, home, visiting the community.. but it is actually the opposite. My husband is a goal seeker, of purpose and very entrepreneurial. “
Spirituality is another important aspect in Christi Fraga’s life. With emphasis she talks about how her faith in God “comforts her and encourages her to take on any challenge and face any difficult time”. That makes her a positive woman, to have clear virtues and strengths which she considers important in her life.
Public Services Interest
With sincerity and humility, Christi says that people have always trusted her and seek her out to solve problems; hence the call to public service on a larger scale as a candidate for Council Member. Despite being the youngest candidate, she is firm and not afraid to fight for public improvements, “This was just the right time for me to run. The Council will change and I saw that I could make a difference in the city. For a moment I thought people would say I’m too young, but if I do not start now, then when?” Her self-drive and desire to get involved to make a difference is energy that is easily felt in her tone to express her ideas: “Instead of talking the talk, I walk the walk. I’m interested in young people, and I want to be an inspiration for them, to set the example to participate… we can be active, we are the difference.”
With conviction she states that she is an excellent multi-tasker and time-manager, able to play multiple roles and set priorities clearly, so fearlessly she says she can fully comply with the services at the Council, her businesses and family. She thinks this experience has been very enriching so she’s more determined than ever to fight for the community and create a better city for families and children in the future.
In her personal life, Christi believes in keeping open access for new ideas so she welcomes criticism and takes it as an opportunity to grow as a person. Her grandmother, her hero as she says, taught her not to be afraid to learn from the examples and mistakes of others and she’s naturally planning to apply this in her quality service for the community.
Her Purpose within the Council.
Christi Fraga feels she will face situations that most people avoid for different reasons so she expresses it with complete transparency yet with conviction: “I have no political reasons for not doing things. My reasons are the youth and future of this community. I want to have my children here. I wish to participate in placing the proper foundation with a group of servers that share my vision to make Doral a better place to live. I have no agenda. I have no hidden intentions. I have the energy to focus on attracting young entrepreneurs, creating more sources of recreation and culture and streamlining the government’s economic efforts”.
Fraga brings to the table her expertise in business management, her passion for strategic planning, budget management, and vision for youth and human virtues such as determination, loyalty, spirituality, kindness, and concern for the welfare of others.
She closes her interview addressing these words to voters, “We need people to lead in the right direction with integrity and honesty, as this city is moving and growing very fast. It’s time to find out who we are voting for and who contributes the most.”

“Por un Futuro Brillante y Audaz”

Gracias a su manera dulce y positiva de expresarse, hablar con Christi Fraga es una experiencia muy agradable. De padres cubanos pero nacida en Miami, ha sido conocida en su familia como la “preocupada, la que mantiene el grupo unido”. Con brillo en los ojos y emoción en su tono cuenta sobre su familia y la forma en que sus padres decidieron mantener la armonía celebrando cada logro y cada fecha memorable dejando a un lado los impedimentos que su separación pudieran representar. Se confiesa a sí misma como una persona amistosa y leal, con una lista limitada pero verdadera de personas que considera amigos.
Desde muy pequeña, Christi fue muy determinada a la hora de trazarse y cumplir sus metas. Su formación académica y títulos universitarios son producto del currículo de St. Brendan High School y Florida International University donde además de altas calificaciones, se involucró en actividades de liderazgo y servicio comunitario como mentor, participando en programa de mejoras para jóvenes y como representante de clase por varios años. Sus objetivos se fijaron con prontitud: “Siempre tuve claro que deseaba graduarme, que deseaba tener una familia, hijos, mi propia empresa y por eso estoy muy orgullosa de los negocios que tengo actualmente”.
Estando aun en “high school”, Christi inicio su primer negocio en la maletera de su auto comprando y vendiendo ropa de New York y California. A pesar de un inicio atropellado por la situación económica de la época, ésta experiencia la ayudó a esforzarse aun más y volver a intentarlo más adelante. Es así, como con titulo en mano y madera de comerciante comenzó a llevar la contabilidad de distintas empresas y hoy día tiene su propia compañía ofreciendo contabilidad integral, asesorías, presencia profesional y operaciones económicas fluidas a sus clientes. Familiarmente, también maneja otras compañías en el área de plomería y servicios de descuentos comerciales atendiendo Doral, Miami-Dade y Broward.
Felizmente casada desde hace dos años y con “mucho en común”, como ella misma afirma, comparte con su esposo más que solo responsabilidades económicas, ellos se dan apoyo incondicional en cada rol: “La gente nos pregunta si no nos cansamos de pasar tanto tiempo juntos, en el trabajo, casa, visitando a la comunidad, pero en realidad es todo lo contrario. Mi esposo es un hombre de propósito y muy emprendedor”.
La parte espiritual es otro aspecto importante en la vida de Christi Fraga. Con énfasis habla de cómo su fe en Dios la “ayuda a asumir retos y afrontar momentos difíciles”. Eso la hace ser una mujer positiva, tener claras virtudes y valores morales muy fuertes e importantes en su vida.
Resolución de Problemas, Interés por el Servicio Público
Con sinceridad y humildad, Christi cuenta que la gente siempre ha confiado en ella y la buscan para resolver problemas, de allí nace el llamado al servicio público a mayor escala como candidata a Concejal. A pesar de ser la candidata de menor edad, es firme y no tiene miedo en participar por mejoras comunes: “Este era el momento propicio para lanzarme. El Concejo va a cambiar y vi que podía hacer la diferencia con muchas situaciones de la ciudad. Por un momento pensé, la gente dirá que estoy muy joven, pero si no empiezo ahora, entonces ¿Cuándo?” Su ímpetu y deseos de hacer la diferencia se sienten en su energía y tono al expresar sus ideas: “En lugar de dar discursos, quiero caminar el camino. Me interesan los jóvenes, quiero ser una fuente de inspiración para ellos, darles el ejemplo para que participemos, seamos activos, seamos la diferencia”
Con convencimiento expresa que es una excelente administradora del tiempo, capaz de asumir varios roles con claridad en sus prioridades, por eso no teme cumplir a cabalidad como Concejal, empresaria y mujer familiar. Esta experiencia ha sido muy enriquecedora y está más determinada que nunca a luchar por la comunidad y crear una mejor ciudad para su familia y sus hijos en el futuro.
Cree en la accesibilidad y tener puertas abiertas para ideas. Admite ser receptiva ante las críticas y las ve como una oportunidad de mejora como persona. Como le enseño su abuela, a quien considera su heroína, no tiene miedo de aprender de los ejemplos de terceros y todo esto piensa aplicarlo en un servicio de calidad a la comunidad.
Su Propósito en el Concejo.
Christi Fraga siente que va a enfrentar a situaciones que la mayoría no hace por distintos motivos y lo expresa con completa transparencia pero a la vez con convicción: “No no tengo razones políticas para no hacer las cosas, mi razones son la juventud y futuro de esta comunidad, quiero tener mis hijos aquí. Deseo participar en colocar los cimientos apropiados junto a un grupo de servidores que compartan mi visión de hacer de Doral un mejor sitio para vivir. No tengo agenda, no tengo intensiones ocultas, tengo la energía para concentrarme en atraer a los jóvenes empresarios, crear más fuentes de recreación y cultura y hacer más eficientes las gestiones económicas de gobierno”.
Fraga pone sobre la mesa su conocimiento en el manejo de negocios, su pasión por la planeación estratégica, el manejo de presupuestos, la visión por los jóvenes y virtudes humanas como la determinación, lealtad, espiritualidad, amabilidad, preocupación por el bienestar de otros.
Con un llamado enérgico como su temperamento, cierra su entrevista dirigiendo estas palabras a los votantes: “Necesitamos gente que lidere en la dirección correcta con integridad y honestidad, pues esta ciudad está moviéndose y creciendo muy rápido. Es momento de saber por quien votamos y qué aporta cada quien”.
