Doral Allows Reopening of Certain Businesses as Part of Phase 1
Doral, FL – City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez has signed an Emergency Order (2020-18) that allows certain non-essential businesses to reopen with strict capacity and safety rules in place, effective Monday, May 18th. The City of Doral will be following Miami-Dade County’s “New Normal Guide” as approved by Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The path to re-opening Doral promotes business operation and economic recovery while maintaining focus on core safety principles.
Businesses that may begin opening on May 18th if they are ready and meet the guidelines include: retail, small businesses, personal grooming businesses, arts and culture, manufacturing, office buildings and shopping centers, warehousing/trade and logistics, and restaurants.
Businesses that will not be permitted to open at this time include: bars, night clubs, banquet halls, breweries, movie theaters, bowling alleys, gyms and spas.
The County has outlined guidance for each business to follow. The goal is a safer environment for workers and customers. Businesses and residents are encouraged to visit [miamidade.gov/newnormal]miamidade.gov/newnormal to review the entire guide with full details and specifications for each industry and sector. The measures included in this guide, prepared by Miami-Dade County, have been approved by doctors and medical experts from the Florida Department of Health, Jackson Health System, U-Health, and the infectious disease experts at Florida International University and the University of Miami. The Doral Police and Code Compliance Departments will support Miami-Dade County with the education and enforcement of these measures to ensure that businesses that reopen, do so responsibly and safely.
Downtown Doral Park and Doral Central Park have been open since April 28th with some restrictions. These parks will remain open, however, at this time no additional Doral parks will be reopened.
