“It is time to work together on issues of first importance for Doral, because even though we have different points of view, we all want what is best for our city”, noted councilwoman Ana María Rodríguez, after the electoral process in which, Pete Cabrera was elected member of the City Council, was over.
Ana María Rodríguez, who was automatically re-elected as councilwoman of Doral due to the lack of opponents, asked her City Council colleagues that on the days to come they focused on facts and not words. “As city officials we need to take action over the city problems and leave personal and political differences aside, because at the end of the day the residents will remember us for what we do for Doral”.
“The campaign and the elections are over, now we must continue on our quest to solve the traffic issues, motivate the development of our parks and green areas while seeking balance between residential and commercial constructions and preserve the environment. These are the issues we must actually pay attention to”.
Although Ana María claimed to be satisfied with the friendly and civilized behavior showed by Bettina Rodríguez and Pete Cabrera during the electoral campaign, she recalled the importance of maintaining an exemplary attitude marked by respect and tolerance, with no room for intimidation, instigation or arguments between both sides.
“It is important that democracy and respect prevail among us. It is logical that we think differently, because even though it is true that we all want what is best for Doral, we have different points of view regarding the way we should address the different issues and propose their solutions, however this does not mean that we have to fall into unproductive discussions that only lead to causing strain within the City Council and discomfort among our residents”, affirmed Ana María.
“We must focus on the new ideas and projects as these will allow our city to keep on growing and providing a warm space for our current and future residents. And that is what all of us, who live in Doral, really want”, concluded Ana María.

“Llegó el momento de trabajar unidos en los temas que son prioritarios para Doral, pues aunque tengamos diferentes puntos de vista, todos queremos lo mejor para nuestra ciudad”. Así lo señaló la concejal Ana María Rodríguez, tras finalizar el proceso electoral en el que Pete Cabrera resultó electo para formar parte del Concejo.
Ana María Rodríguez, quien fue automáticamente re-electa como concejal de Doral, al no presentársele ningún oponente, hizo un llamado a sus compañeros del Concejo para que en los días por venir se concentren en los hechos y no en las palabras. “Como autoridades municipales tenemos que tomar acciones sobre los problemas de la ciudad y dejar las diferencias personales y políticas de un lado, porque al final, los residentes nos van a recodar por lo que hagamos por Doral”.
“Ya finalizaron las campañas y las elecciones, ahora tenemos que continuar resolviendo los problemas de tráfico, propiciar el desarrollo de los parques y de nuestras áreas verdes, buscando el balance entre las construcciones residenciales y comerciales y velar por la conservación del medio ambiente. Estos son los asuntos que realmente debemos atender.”
Si bien Ana María manifestó sentirse satisfecha con el trato cordial y cívico que mantuvieron Bettina Rodríguez y Pete Cabrera durante la campaña electoral, recordó que es vital que el Concejo mantenga un actitud ejemplar, marcada por el respeto y la tolerancia, en el que no haya cabida para intimidaciones, instigaciones o rencillas entre bandos.
“Es importante que entre nosotros prive la democracia y el respeto. Es lógico que pensemos diferente, pues si bien a todos nos une la búsqueda del bienestar de Doral, tenemos diversos puntos de vista sobre la forma de abordar los problemas y ofrecer las soluciones, pero esto no significa que tengamos que caer en discusiones improductivas que sólo logran crear tensiones en el seno del Concejo y malestar entre nuestros residentes”, manifestó Ana María.
“Tenemos que concentrarnos en las nuevas ideas, en los nuevos proyectos que harán que la ciudad siga creciendo y pueda brindar una acogedora cabida a nuestros residentes actuales y futuros. Eso es lo que realmente queremos todos los que vivimos en Doral”, señalo Ana María.
