State of the City 2026: Mayor Christi Fraga highlights Doral’s progress and acknowledges community challenges.
During her annual State of the City address on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom at Trump National Doral, Mayor Christi Fraga reflected on the city’s progress over the past year, highlighting public safety improvements, community engagement, and the challenges facing local families and businesses.
The mayor announced a 60% drop in overall crime. Fraga credited the decline to a stronger Doral Police Department, the use of license plate readers, the expansion of the Doral Connect program, and the creation of specialized units targeting fraud in homeowners associations and aggressive driving.
The mayor also highlighted the community’s response, saying residents showed up and responded strongly, including sending aid to disaster-stricken countries through organizations such as Global Empowerment Mission.
The address also touched on the concerns facing many immigrant families. Fraga acknowledged that many neighbors are suffering, that families are living with uncertainty, and that local businesses are feeling the impact. She said leadership requires listening, caring and advocating responsibly.
Looking ahead, Doral is preparing to host the G20 Summit on Dec. 14-15, 2026, at Trump National Doral, an international event that will put the city at the center of global attention.
The message combined the city administration’s achievements with an acknowledgment of the economic and social challenges that continue to affect the community.
