After nearly a decade in office, on Thursday night October 11th, Doral Mayor, Juan Carlos Bermudez offered his last State of the City Address, assuring from the beginning, “Certainly, without my faith in the Lord I do not think I would have been able to survive these years…”

The countdown to the local elections is in full swing and we talked to JC about faith, family, values, homeland, achievements, struggles and desires. We talked about civility and commitment. We talked about the adventure that was to build institutions and the imminence of leaving others in charge. That is democracy: alternation and opportunities. Some people dream, others build and some more continue the work.

The Miami-Dade County Elections Department will conduct a comprehensive examination of its voting equipment in preparation for the upcoming November 6, 2012 General Election. As is customary prior to every election, the Elections Department will extensively test its equipment by replicating Election Day conditions.

It is critical that your voice be part of this historic power. From education to healthcare, immigration, issues to new business opportunities, your vote will determine the quality of your life, and your children’s opportunities.
