Digna Cabral wins Doral City Council runoff race.

Doral has decided with little participation who will be the new council member for City of Doral Council Seat 4.

With over 2,650 ballots counted, Digna Cabral has won the Doral City Council Seat 4 runoff election.

Digna Cabral defeated Belinda Leon 1,687 (63.64%) votes to 964 (36.36%) for City Council Seat 4.

Digna Cabral has resided in Doral with her family since 2007. A Senior Research Associate at University of Miami, she is a wife and mother of three children, and still finds time to serve in multiple community organizations such as Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Rotary Club, Parks and Police 4 Kids, Home Owners Master Association and Community Development District of Coronado at Doral. She is also the PTA President at Dr. Toni Bilbao Preparatory Academy, member of the Family/Community Engagement Committee for the Florida PTA and in the past was a member of the EESAC and PTA for Dr. Rolando Espinosa K-8 Center and PTO of Doral Academy.

The Swearing-in Ceremony for the newly elected members of the council will take place at City Hall on December 18th.

    BOTH looked like great candidates .

    SAD but TYPICAL of such low voter turn out .
    MOST Hispanics = Political apathy

    I must say that being Cuban , BORN in Cuba I am elated that UNLIKE the rest of banana republic Miami you do not have to be Cuban in order to run for office in Doral. Its anyone’s race to win and that is REAL NICE .

    Do like Fraga and Bermudez (also liked Boria ) but let’s not bury our heads in the sand and be PC about the third world standards (or lack of standards) outside of Doral .
