Doral Family Journal hosts Hispanic Business Leaders’ Forum

DORAL, FL – On Tuesday, Sept. 26, Doral Family Journal once again gathered the community at one place to showcase the efforts, pathways and lessons learned of prominent local leaders in the Hispanic Business Leaders’ Forum. 

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, panelists of different professional and cultural backgrounds met at Miami Dade College West Campus to talk about their lives, how Miami-Dade with its uniqueness has shaped the way they present to the world, how to execute an appropriate leadership and what are the keys to succeed in this ever-growing environment. 

City of Doral mayor, Christi Fraga, CEO Sergio’s Restaurants, Carlos Gazitua, Community Outreach Director of las Madrinas de los Seguros, Odalys Arevalo, Doral Market General Manager of Lithia Motors, Erick Nunez, General Manager of Miami International Mall, Maria Prado, and President of United HomeCare, Carlos Martinez, shared important insights with students at Miami Dade College, Miami-Dade County residents, elected officials and entrepreneurs. 

With Pamela Fuertes, expert in Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, Community and Institutional Engagement and International Business as well as Dean of Miguel B. Fernandez Family School of Global Business, Trade and Transportation of Miami Dade College, as moderator, panelists of the Hispanic Business Leaders’ Forum answered each one of her questions reminding the audience that the key to excel in the current demanding world is to be resilient, show compassion, empathy towards others and lead through example and a highly involved and engaged attitude every step of the way. 

As successful leaders and entrepreneurs from Hispanic origin they paved their way up to the top in the United States starting from the bottom with several challenges and obstacles along their ways. The audience, especially active students at Miami Dade College, were positively impacted by their experiences that sure will serve as a guide for the coming years.
