Freebie Senior On-Demand Service to be launched April 15
DORAL, FL – The Freebie Senior On-Demand Service pilot program will be launched Monday, April 15, 2024, with two Tesla vehicles aimed to provide door-to-door transportation for residents 65+ Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and on Fridays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
To ensure eligibility, residents can call the Freebee dispatch line to create a profile for the program. The Freebee team will collect information such as name, date of birth, email address, and phone number. Upon pick-up for the first-time ride, users will need to show a valid ID to confirm identity.
In addition, the City of Doral Public Works staff is coordinating with Freebee to station the two Tesla vehicles at the Doral Police Training & Community Center. This location is chosen for its proximity to charging stations and residential communities on the west side of the city, ensuring convenient access for seniors.
Those interested in participating and learning more about the program and how to register, can attend the two workshops the City of Doral through the Public Works Department and Freebee staff has organized.
The first one will be on Thursday, April 11th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM (1st-floor multipurpose room), and the second, on Friday, April 12th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM (3rd-floor training room) at the Doral Government Center, 8401 NW 534th Terrace.
Attendees are requested to bring a valid ID to register for the program during the workshop. For more information, please contact Public Works (PW) at publicworks@cityofdoral.com or at 305-593-6740.
