As we reflect on the month of May, we are reminded of the many blessings that come from family, community, and service. Throughout the month, the Town of Medley had the pleasure of celebrating the remarkable mothers who enrich our lives and strengthen our community every day.
One of the highlights of the month was our Residents Mother’s Day Celebration at Lakeside Retirement Park. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor the mothers and grandmothers whose wisdom, kindness, and life experiences continue to inspire us all. Sharing smiles, stories, and special moments with our residents is always a meaningful experience, and we are grateful for the warmth and hospitality they extended to us.
We also celebrated Mother’s Day with our dedicated Town employees. Their hard work, commitment, and sacrifice help make Medley a better place to live and work. Many of these employees balance the responsibilities of their careers while nurturing and supporting their families, and we were proud to recognize and thank them for all they do.
As we entered the month of June, the Mayor and Town Council had the privilege of recognizing several outstanding members of the Town of Medley Police Department during the June 1st Council Meeting. These dedicated professionals exemplify excellence, commitment, and service to our community.
Congratulations to Officer Chelsey Masson, recipient of the Officer of the Year Award, for her exceptional dedication, professionalism, and commitment to protecting and serving the residents and businesses of Medley.
We also proudly recognize Communication Officer Lexa Galiano, recipient of the Civilian Employee of the Year Award, whose outstanding support and dedication are essential to the daily operations and success of our Police Department.
Special recognition was presented to Sergeant Luis Rivera, recipient of the Community Impact Award, for his continued efforts to strengthen community relationships and make a positive difference throughout the Town.
Congratulations to K-9 Officer Randy Godinez, recipient of the 09-39 Arrest Award, for his exemplary law enforcement efforts and commitment to public safety.
We are also proud to recognize Officer Andres Oviedo and Motor Officer Maxim Saint-Lo, recipients of the Officer of the Bid Awards, for their outstanding performance, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The Mayor and Town Council were equally honored to present a Proclamation to the South Florida Donor Network in recognition of their lifesaving mission and extraordinary commitment to organ, eye, and tissue donation. Through their efforts to educate the public, support donor families, and facilitate life-saving transplants, the South Florida Donor Network has brought hope and healing to countless individuals throughout our community and beyond. We thank them for their dedication and invaluable service.
These recognitions remind us of the importance of service, compassion, and community involvement. Whether through public safety, healthcare advocacy, or the daily contributions of our residents and employees, Medley continues to thrive because of the extraordinary people who dedicate themselves to making a difference.
As always, I thank our residents, employees, businesses, and public safety personnel for their continued support and commitment to our Town. Together, we continue building a stronger, safer, and more vibrant Medley.

Reconociendo el Compromiso que Fortalece Nuestra Ciudad

Al reflexionar sobre el mes de mayo, recordamos las muchas bendiciones que recibimos a través de la familia, la comunidad y el servicio. Durante este mes, la Ciudad de Medley tuvo el placer de celebrar a las extraordinarias madres que enriquecen nuestras vidas y fortalecen nuestra comunidad cada día.
Uno de los momentos más especiales fue nuestra celebración del Día de las Madres con nuestros residentes en Lakeside Retirement Park. Fue una hermosa oportunidad para honrar a las madres y abuelas cuya sabiduría, bondad y experiencias de vida continúan inspirándonos. Compartir sonrisas, historias y momentos especiales con nuestros residentes siempre es una experiencia significativa, y agradecemos la calidez y hospitalidad que nos brindaron.
También celebramos el Día de las Madres con nuestros dedicados empleados municipales. Su arduo trabajo, compromiso y sacrificio contribuyen diariamente a hacer de Medley un mejor lugar para vivir y trabajar. Muchas de estas mujeres desempeñan con éxito sus responsabilidades profesionales mientras cuidan y apoyan a sus familias, por lo que fue un honor reconocerlas y agradecerles todo lo que hacen por nuestra comunidad.
Al comenzar el mes de junio, la Alcaldesa y el Concejo Municipal tuvieron el privilegio de reconocer a varios miembros destacados del Departamento de Policía de Medley durante la reunión del Concejo celebrada el 1 de junio. Estos profesionales ejemplifican los más altos estándares de excelencia, dedicación y servicio público.
Felicitamos a la Oficial Chelsey Masson, distinguida con el reconocimiento de Oficial del Año, por su excepcional dedicación, profesionalismo y compromiso con la protección y el bienestar de nuestra comunidad.
Asimismo, reconocemos a la Operadora de Comunicaciones Lexa Galiano, galardonada como Empleada Civil del Año, cuya labor y dedicación son fundamentales para el funcionamiento eficiente de nuestro Departamento de Policía.
Un reconocimiento especial fue otorgado al Sargento Luis Rivera, ganador del Premio al Impacto Comunitario, por su constante esfuerzo en fortalecer las relaciones con la comunidad y generar un impacto positivo en la Ciudad de Medley.
Felicitamos también al Oficial K-9 Randy Godinez, receptor del Premio 09-39 Arrest Award, por su destacada labor policial y compromiso con la seguridad pública.
De igual manera, nos enorgullece reconocer al Oficial Andres Oviedo y al Oficial Motorizado Maxim Saint-Lo, quienes recibieron los Officer of the Bid Awards por su sobresaliente desempeño, profesionalismo y servicio a los residentes y empresas de Medley.
La Alcaldesa y el Concejo Municipal también tuvieron el honor de presentar una Proclamación a South Florida Donor Network, en reconocimiento a su misión de salvar vidas y a su extraordinario compromiso con la donación de órganos, ojos y tejidos. A través de sus esfuerzos de educación, apoyo a las familias donantes y coordinación de trasplantes que cambian vidas, South Florida Donor Network brinda esperanza y una segunda oportunidad a innumerables personas en nuestra comunidad y en todo el sur de la Florida. Les agradecemos profundamente su dedicación y valioso servicio.
Estos reconocimientos nos recuerdan la importancia del servicio, la compasión y el compromiso comunitario. Ya sea a través de la seguridad pública, la defensa de causas que salvan vidas o las contribuciones diarias de nuestros residentes y empleados, Medley continúa prosperando gracias a las personas extraordinarias que trabajan cada día para marcar una diferencia.
Como siempre, agradezco a nuestros residentes, empleados, empresas y personal de seguridad pública por su continuo apoyo y dedicación a nuestra Ciudad. Juntos seguiremos construyendo un Medley más fuerte, seguro y próspero para las futuras generaciones.
