Medley Mayor, Roberto Martell, cohosted food distribution event
Medley Mayor, Roberto Martell, cohosted a food and KN-95 masks distribution event with North Miami Beach Mayor, Anthony F. DeFillipo, in the city of North Miami Beach.
According to a press release, Mayor DeFillipo invited Mayor Martell to join the event that took place last Friday, Feb. 19, at 4:00 p.m.
About 2,000 boxes of food were distributed by the two mayors alongside KN-95 masks, while at the same time COVID-19 testing was offered to those in need.
Other organizations such as Roadside Towing, Coral Gables Merrick Lions Club, Viva Iglesia, Ministerio Internacional La Cosecha, NMB Police and North Miami Beach Parks & Recreation also took part in the event. Also present was Isis García-Martínez, former deputy mayor of Hialeah.
During the food distribution, Mayor Anthony F. DeFillipo presented the key of the City of North Miami Beach to Medley Mayor, Roberto Martell, who also presented the key of the Town of Medley to DeFillipo.
In addition, at the beginning three proclamations were delivered from the city of North Miami Beach. The first was for Kimberly Gómez, representing Chen Senior Medical Center; the second, for Geo Herrera, president of Helping Florida; and the third was given to Luis Suárez, president and chief curator of the Suárez Museum of Natural Science & History.
Food distributions are scheduled every Friday at 4:00 p.m. at 17051 NE 19th Ave. North Miami Beach. 33162.
