Message from the Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez
Hello Neighbor,
I hope that you and your loved ones are remaining safe during this challenging time. What we are experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic is something unprecedented, causing major disruptions to our lives, as well as stress and worry.
I want to thank our residents, business owners and employees for doing their part to help stop the spread of this virus. Several measures and restrictions have been enacted in efforts to keep our community safe and I am proud to see that so many are being cooperative and following the rules. Now more than ever, we must be united in the common goal of overcoming this and returning to normalcy.
Due to the fluid nature of this State of Emergency, the City continues to assess the situation and work with federal, state and county agencies, following their guidelines to safeguard our community from continued spread of the virus. Critical weeks are ahead of us that will require everyone to do their part in order to get past this.
Please stay at home as much as possible – you are safer at home! You should only be leaving your home for critical errands like seeking food or medicine, or if you are an essential worker. If you must be out, make sure you are following recommendations from the CDC to maintain at least 6 feet from everyone, wash your hands often and cover your mouth and nose with a mask, scarf, etc. Rest assured that these important measures are being enforced by Doral Police and Code Compliance Officers.
I understand that our business community is very much being impacted by the pandemic and the City of Doral is committed to doing what we can to help our local businesses bounce back. We continue to communicate daily with businesses, residents and institutional partners at the local, county, state and federal level to provide the most up-to-date information to the community and connect those in need to important resources through the City’s many platforms.
As the situation continues to develop, make sure you are following us on social media (@cityofdoral) and on the City of Doral COVID-19 webpage for announcements regarding impacted city services, business assistance programs, and daily cases reported by the State in Doral and Miami-Dade County.
Please stay safe, calm, kind and at home. Remember, we are in this together and we will get through this together.
Thank you and God bless.
Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez
