Real Hotels & Resorts and IHG Celebrate the Grand Opening of the New Real InterContinental and Hotel Indigo Complex in Miraflores, Lima.

Two distinctive hospitality concepts expand Lima’s luxury and lifestyle hotel offering, delivering unique experiences for travelers and locals alike.

Grupo Poma, a leading Salvadoran business conglomerate, through its hotel division Real Hotels & Resorts, in strategic alliance with IHG Hotels & Resorts—one of the world’s leading hospitality companies—announces the opening of an impressive new hotel complex in Lima, featuring two internationally recognized brands: Real InterContinental Lima Miraflores and Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores. This milestone strengthens Real Hotels & Resorts’ expansion in South America and reinforces Lima’s dynamic tourism and business landscape.

Strategically located in Miraflores—one of Lima’s most iconic and cosmopolitan districts—the new complex rises in an area renowned for its vibrant cultural life, world-class gastronomy, nightlife, oceanfront parks, and attractions such as Larcomar shopping center. Its proximity to San Isidro and Barranco makes Miraflores the cultural and tourism heart of the city and a prime location for hotel development in Peru.

Miraflores Mayor Carlos Canales stated: “The opening of the Real InterContinental and Hotel Indigo strengthens Miraflores’ position as one of Peru’s premier tourism destinations. Investments like these are essential to continue projecting the district as a modern space with world-class infrastructure for both domestic and international visitors.” The new hotel complex is set to become not only a symbol of luxury and comfort, but also a vibrant new social and gastronomic hub in Lima.

Fernando Poma, Executive Director of Real Hotels & Resorts, expressed his enthusiasm during the inauguration ceremony: “Seventeen years ago, we envisioned opening a hotel in Lima. We pursued multiple initiatives since 2008, but the right opportunity didn’t arise until September 2023, when all the stars aligned to make this hotel complex a reality.” He added: “We do this in partnership with our longest-standing ally, IHG Hotels & Resorts, a vital strategic partner in our development from Miami to Lima—now our southernmost location. Of our 30 hotels in 11 countries, 10 are under this prestigious brand.”

“Lima is undoubtedly one of the most important cities in the Americas, and we hope these hotels make Miraflores and Lima even more attractive. These hotels are for the people of Lima: with five restaurants, the Presence Spa, and versatile event spaces, they are designed for locals to enjoy, celebrate, and connect—while offering travelers a refined hospitality experience.”

Ricardo Poma, President of Grupo Poma, also shared insights into the organization’s vision:

“People, passion, and vision—this is the motto that guides Grupo Poma’s path and inspires us to give our very best. With the exceptional team we’ve assembled in these two hotels, we aim to create a hub where business and entertainment converge, contributing to the vitality of this extraordinary city.”
