Roberto Martell, Mayor of the Town of Medley: “We have many areas of opportunity for those eager to meet them”

Mayor Roberto Martell closes the year 2015 satisfied with his achievements on the promotion and recognition – both locally and internationally- for the Town of Medley as a business focused city.
A financially strong municipality, with an approachable Mayor, Council and staff ready to tend to the needs of the residents and the vast majority of business owners within its boundaries, Medley is defined by its Mayor as the “hidden gem of South Florida”.
Their goal for 2016 is to “break ground and create a metropolitan city” and part of the strategy to achieve this goal was a recent trip of Mayor Martell to China, where he met with business owners and representatives of world renowned corporations, in order to spark their interest on investing in his municipality.
The recent passing of an ordinance that allows high rise buildings within their Light Industrial (M-1) zoning district, will allow investors to develop the office space suitable for doing business right in the heart of Miami-Dade County.
“The purpose of the trip of attracting Chinese business owners was fulfilled and we are very grateful for the unique experience” said Martell, who will be starting next year the contact with those businesses from China who showed interest on coming to invest in Medley.
“We want to invest and create new businesses in our city. All surrounding areas will also benefit of it, we are not an isolated island. Everything good that happens to us and also in Doral, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, helps consumers and those seeking employment as well.”

From obtaining permits, to working with inspectors and general contractors, we will see you through every step of the way. We also have an amazing and friendly police department that works tirelessly to protect and serve the community; A city that will work for you.”

El Alcalde Roberto Martell cierra el año 2015 muy satisfecho con sus logros en la promoción y reconocimiento –local e internacionalmente- de la Ciudad de Medley como una municipalidad orientada al desarrollo de negocios.
Una entidad municipal con finanzas fuertes y consolidadas, que cuenta con oficiales electos y personal calificado, cuya principal prioridad es atender a las necesidades de sus residentes y dueños de negocios, Medley es definida por su Alcalde como “la joya escondida del Sur de Florida”.
Para el 2016 desean lograr el “inicio de la consolidación de Medley como una ciudad Metropolitana”. Parte de la estrategia para lograrlo fue el reciente viaje a China del Alcalde Martell junto con una comisión de Alcaldes de otras municipalidades del Condado Miami-Dade.
En China, Martell pudo reunirse con empresarios y representantes de corporaciones conocidas mundialmente, para despertar el interés en realizar inversiones en la Ciudad de Medley.
La reciente aprobación de la ordenanza que permite la construcción de rascacielos dentro del distrito industrial (M-1) de Medley, proporcionará a los inversionistas la oportunidad de desarrollar espacios de oficina adecuados para sus negocios, en pleno corazón de Miami-Dade, con acceso a las más importantes arterias viales, al sistema ferroviario y al Aeropuerto Internacional de Miami.
“El propósito del viaje fue atraer a los chinos para que conozcan nuestra ciudad. Eso lo logramos y estoy muy agradecido. Fue una experiencia única y excelente” comentó Martell, quien comenzará el nuevo año en contacto con los inversionistas de China que mostraron interés en visitar la ciudad.
“Queremos que vengan las inversiones y creen nuevos negocios; que hagan los edificios rascacielos que permite la ordenanza. Queremos que inviertan y creen nuevos negocios en la ciudad y los alrededores. Todos nos beneficiamos, somos un conjunto no una isla aislada. Todo lo que pasa en Doral, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens ayuda a todos los consumidores y a los que están buscando empleo”.
“Como Alcalde, estoy aquí para apoyar a quienes desean iniciar o expandir sus negocios. El personal de la Alcaldía trabajará con ustedes y los desarrolladores para garantizar que puedan realizar sus proyectos. Desde procesar permisos hasta trabajar con los inspectores y contratistas, estamos aquí para guiar a los inversionistas. También tenemos un extraordinario departamento de policía que trabaja arduamente para servir a la comunidad. Somos una ciudad que trabaja para todos.”
