Free Photography Program for Children Living With Cancer.

The Art Shack and The Frost Art Museum have join forces to bring the FREE Pablove Shutterbugs Program for children living with cancer to Miami starting on October 4, 2104,
We are currently recruiting interested families and their children through the Miami Children’s Hospital and the Holtz Children’s Hospital, but if you know a child living with cancer or a child who is a cancer survivor, they are welcome to apply through us or the program internet site http://www.pablove.org/shutterbugs/.
Families who face the immense challenges that come with having a child diagnosed with cancer often find themselves navigating a complicated system of hospital treatments, a disruption of daily routines, and experience a high level of stress and uncertainty as they advocate for their child in coping with and managing their illness. Every family member is affected, and especially for the child who is undergoing treatment, feelings of isolation, confusion, loss of peer relationships and the inability to participate in normal childhood activities quickly become a part of life.
Pablove Shutterbugs encourages children ages 6 to 18 who are living with cancer to participate in a learning community where their primary objective is to develop their creative voice through the art of photography. By focusing on a new art form, and learning in a classroom setting that encourages them to take a camera and literally look at the world from a different perspective, the Pablove Shutterbugs program brings children back to an environment where developing friendships and learning in an fun and educational setting becomes a part of life again.
Pablove Shutterbugs is a 5-Week, outpatient photography program that takes place over five Saturdays in a creative setting. A local Teaching Artist will conduct a Fall and Spring session for 15 students each.
After the fall and spring sessions, the program will culminate with a Student Gallery Show at the FROST Art Museum, where students and their families come together and celebrate their accomplishments with the larger community.
As a gift, students receive the framed photo that was chosen and hung for the exhibition and get to keep the brand new cameras and other equipment they use during the classes.

The Art Shack y el Museo de Arte Frost colaboran para traer el Programa GRATUITO Pablove Shutterbugs para niños que viven con cáncer a Miami a partir del 4 de octubre de 2104.
Actualmente se están registrando a los hijos de familias interesadas a través del Hospital de Niños de Miami y el Hospital de Niños Holtz. Si usted conoce a un niño que vive con cáncer o un niño que es un sobreviviente de cáncer, ellos pueden aplicar al Programa a través de nosotros o directamente a través del sitio web del Programa: http://www.pablove.org/shutterbugs/
El tener un niño diagnosticado con cáncer hace que las familias enfrenten inmensos desafíos, a menudo se encuentran navegando un complicado sistema de tratamientos hospitalarios, se interrumpen sus rutinas diarias, y experimentan un alto nivel de estrés e incertidumbre, mientras respaldan a sus hijos para poder afrontar y manejar su enfermedad. Cada miembro de la familia se ve afectado, y sobre todo el niño que está bajo tratamiento, los sentimientos de aislamiento, confusión, pérdida de relaciones con los compañeros y la imposibilidad de participar en las actividades normales de la infancia rápidamente se convierten en parte de su realidad diaria.
Pablove Shutterbugs incentiva a niños de entre 6 y 18 años que viven con cáncer a participar en esta comunidad de aprendizaje donde el objetivo principal es el desarrollo de su voz creativa a través del arte de la fotografía. Al centrarse en una nueva forma de arte, y el aprendizaje en un salón de clases que les anima a tomar una cámara y, literalmente, mirar el mundo desde una perspectiva diferente, el programa Pablove Shutterbugs trae a los niños de regreso a un ambiente donde hacer amistades y aprender en un entorno educativo y divertido se convierten nuevamente en parte de la vida.
Pablove Shutterbugs es un programa de fotografía ambulatorio de 5 semanas que se lleva a cabo durante cinco sábados en un entorno creativo. Una artista fotógrafa local enseñará dos sesiones, una sesión de otoño y una de primavera para 15 alumnos cada una.
Después de las sesiones de otoño y primavera, el programa culminará con una Muestra de los participantes en el Museo de Arte Frost, donde los estudiantes y sus familias se reunirán y celebrarán sus logros con la comunidad en general.
Como regalo, los partcipantes reciben la foto enmarcada que se ha elegido para colgar en la exposición y se quedan con las flamantes cámaras y otros equipos que utilizan durante las clases.
