Barbara Hernandez is the new City of Doral Manager

DORAL, FL – On Wednesday morning, Dec. 21, Barbara Hernandez was appointed as the new City of Doral manager during the first council meeting held by elected Mayor Christi Fraga.

“I feel so grateful to God, my family, my friends, the city, the council, and the community, and excited because I know we are going to do great things to keep the city moving forward. I am ready to work,” said Hernandez during an interview with Doral Family Journal.

She was elected on an unanimous vote by the new council. “I really appreciate their support and their backing on that,” said the new City Manager stated, who was the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Director.

As part of her new role, Barbara Hernandez will focus first in the parks bond approved in 2018, that she will work to move it forward, while also in finishing Doral Central Park.

In addition, she will also focus in the security and safety of Doral. “I love our Police Department but I know there’s always room for improvement, and I’ll work with them in that direction.”

Other topics she will work on as the new City Manager include providing better customer service and having a better connection with the community.

Hernandez, who is also the wife of Danny Espino, who was recently elected as the new Miami-Dade School Board member for District 5, worked in Doral for 14 years from 2005 to 2019, first as a parks superintendent and then as director of the parks department.

Though a damned if you do job and damned if you don’t there needs to more patrolling , WAY LESS hanging out and texting , yip yapping .

Some great police here and as many who outside of Miami would have been let go for being negligent in their duties . .

Drivers who text while driving should not be ignored .

Illegal trailers without brake lights should not be ignored .

illegal vehicles should not be ignored and when you change the height , width , weight of a vehicle which does not match the registration it is thus illegal aka monster trucks .

Drunk drivers left and right Sat / Sun roughly from 1 am to 5 am . I work at night till am and have noticed the increase .

Doral simply has way to many people to operate like its the 1980’s.
