CITY OF DORAL

At the May 10th 2017 Council meeting, Councilwoman Christi Fraga requested that the City of Doral Mayor and Council recognize students from Ronald W. Reagan/Doral and Doral Academy Preparatory who had been nominated by their schools for the Miami Herald’s Silver Knight Awards.

Dolphin Mall, Legacy Park, “Doral International Math and Science Academy” school and potentially City Place could be some of the new Trolley destinations

This new classification (a whole point improvement since last evaluation five years ago) qualifies residents in the city for a 15 percent discount in the premiums for flood insurance policies that are issued or renewed within Special Flood Hazard Areas of Doral after May 1, 2017.

As part of the program, TSIC will identify eligible, deserving students at Ronald Reagan/Doral High School and pairs them with City employees, who commit to serving as mentors to these students for one hour per week.

The construction of an Olympic swimming pool has been a request from the Doral community from the time the city was founded, nevertheless the road to achieve this has not been easy and the residents are claiming for a place where to take their children to practice this sport without having to commute to other areas.

The City of Doral Council instructed staff to review the contract related to reinstate the operation of the red light cameras currently located at main intersections around the city.

The Doral Police Department calls for the residents to, please “not make easy the job of the thieves”, please remember the importance of closing your vehicles and do not leave valuable objects in plain sight.

On Friday February 3rd, 2017, Councilwoman Christi Fraga held a PTA/PTSA Educator Open Forum & Appreciation Breakfast at City Hall where administrators and PTA/PTSA board members from every school in Doral

For the ninth consecutive year, the City of Doral has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.
