City of Doral continues to respond to Waste-to-Energy Plant fire

DORAL, FL – City of Doral Mayor, Christi Fraga, together with council members, Maureen Porras and Rafael Pineyro, as well as the District 5 School Board member, Danny Espino, have been visiting Covanta, the Waste-to-Energy Plant affected by a fire on Feb.12, since last week in order to inspect the magnitude of the damage and its consequences.

They have also visited different residential areas and commercial premises to personally listen to those impacted by this accident.

Motivated by City of Doral residents who are concerned about this incident, Mayor Fraga has been emphatic in stating she will not stop working until she sees the definitive removal of said incinerator outside the city.

In line with this purpose, the City of Doral leader requested to Miami-Dade commissioners to come to the Waste-to-Energy Plant so they can witness by themselves how extensive and serious the problem is. She already started this task by personally calling each one of them to ask them to coordinate said inspection.

“This crisis has opened up the opportunity to reopen the debate about removing this plant, which has been so vividly rejected by the residents of our community,” Fraga said.

The office of Commissioner is a disaster and a special interest owned position , the office is the worse thing to happen to Doral / Miami residents .

A self serving career politicians paradise and outside of Miami you do not see them with this type of input .

They work for developers while pulling the con that it is for us the ” little people ” .

Being Cuban , born in Cuba I call them the Miami Cuban Cosa Nostra and every time a Mayor calls them out they pull the same standard calle ocho line ,nonsense which sadly works ” Just like Fidel Castro the Mayor wants all the power ” while nothing could be further from reality.

Not one should have been reelected nor elected to any other office .

Of course this is my own observation / opinion .
