City of Doral Hosts 2014 Doral Relay for Life Kick-off Reception.
The City of Doral hosted the 2014 Relay for Life Kick-off Reception on December 3, 2013. The Government Center filled with excitement as the community came together to kick-off 2014 in the battle to fight cancer.
Honorary Chair, Councilwoman Sandra Ruiz welcomed the residents, businesses, and the 2014 Relay for Life Doral Committee Members as fundraising goals and the theme for 2014 was unveiled, Doral City – Building a Cancer-Free Community.
Cancer survivor 16-year old, Sofia Alberto, shared a moving and inspiring story of her personal battle and struggles to fight cancer and survive against the odds.
Bibiana Salmon, cancer survivor, also shared her story.
Mayor Luigi Boria, Vice Mayor Christi Fraga, and 2013 Honorary Chair Ana Maria Rodriguez were also present in support of Doral Relay for Life 2014 which will be held at JC Bermudez Park on April 25, 2014.
They encouraged the community to come together and get involved.

Recepción para dar inicio al Relevo por la Vida 2014.
El pasado 3 de diciembre,la Ciudad de Doral fue sede durante una recepción entre varios asistentes para dar el saque inicial al Relevo por la Vida 2014 y dar inicio a una nueva batalla para combatir el cáncer.
La concejal y Presidenta Honoraria del Relevo por la Vida 2014, Sandra Ruiz le dio la bienvenida a los residentes, empresas y al Comité de miembros de Doral Relay for Life 2014 quienes hablaron sobre las metas de recaudación de fondos y dieron a conocer el tema para el Relevo del próximo año: “Construyendo una comunidad libre de cáncer en Doral”.
Durante la recepción, Sofia Alberto, sobreviviente de cáncer con apenas 16 años de edad, compartió una historia conmovedora y estimulante de su batalla y lucha personal para combatir el cáncer y sobrevivir contra todo pronóstico. Bibiana Salmón, sobreviviente de cáncer, también compartió su historia.
El Alcalde Luigi Boria, la Vice Alcaldesa Christi Fraga, y la Presidente Honorario del 2013, Ana María Rodríguez también estuvieron presentes en apoyo de Relevo por la Vida en Doral 2014 que se celebrará en el JC Bermúdez Park el 25 de abril de 2014. Todos instaron a la comunidad a unirse y participar.
