Doral Little League Celebrates All Stars Coach Pitch Division Spring 2014

The Doral Little League held this year’s All Stars Coach Pitch Division Ceremony, Game and Derby on May, 18th, 2014.

During the opening ceremony for the All Stars Game, teams, managers and volunteers were presented and recognized for their effort and participation during this Spring Season. The league had the pleasure of being honored with the presence of Christi Fraga, Vice-Mayor, who got the game started by throwing the first ball. The national anthem was beautifully song by Angelina Green, a very talented 4th grader.

Teams sent 6 of their best players to compete in this friendly All Star Game. Two All Stars teams were created, the blue team (Rangers and Tigers) and the red team (Red Sox and Yankees). Up until the 4th inning the blue team led the runs 3-2 and in an exciting game tables were turned in the bottom of the 4th were the red team tied and took a lead of 3 runs at the bottom of the 5th. In the end the red team won 7-5 in exciting game.

Nicholas Liberoni, Daniel Riva, Lucas Riva, Josh Noll, Tomas Padilla, Michael Edwards, Gustavo Prieto, Hector Escobar, Fernando Quinones, Alejandro Merlan, Tulio Monroy, and Adrian Montesinos.

A “Home Run Derby, Throwing, and Running” Contest was celebrated immediately after the All Star Game. Out of the six players assigned to the All Star Team, two players were elected to each category for Home Run Derby, Throwing, and Running. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals were given out for each category.

1st Place: Daniel Restrepo

2nd Place: Tulio Monroy

3rd Placce: Diego Bello

The winners for the Throwing Contest:

1st Place: Gustavo Prieto

2nd Place: Alejandro Merlan

3rd Place: Alejandro Formoso

The winners for the Running Contest:

1st Place: Josh Noll

2nd Place: Sebastian Soltillo

3rd Place: Valeria Clavellin
