Doral Vice Mayor Sandra Ruiz, along with the Mayor and Council, honored students as part of the “Most Improved Program” (MIP) on May 13th at the Doral Government Center.
Part of an education initiative launched in the summer of 2014, this program is in its first year rewarding deserving students with an official medal and tickets to the Miami Marlins game. The MIP mission fosters academic excellence, encouraging a love for learning and pushing students to continue on to college.
“Education is the key to success for our children and they should be rewarded and encouraged to reach academic excellence. Through my education initiative, I’ve created the “Most Improved Program” to recognize and honor those students that have shown improvement. I highly value education and those that excel are to be commended,” stated Vice Mayor Sandra Ruiz.
Representatives from the Hispanic Coalition, The Miami Marlins mascot, Representatives from the Miami Marlins, the Mayor and Council were present.
