On May 11, 2023, United HomeCare® will proudly present the Claude Pepper Awards in memory of the late Senator Claude Pepper, a beloved public servant who tirelessly championed causes on behalf of the elderly and is credited with giving us the Older Americans Act of 1965. This signature legislation helps older Americans to age with dignity in the comfort of their homes with the care and support services they need and deserve.
It is still true today that having quality of life in one’s later years often requires a helping hand, frequently more than family members can provide physically or financially. It is here that community philanthropy plays a vital role.
United HomeCare® has served tens of thousands of older adults in South Florida since 1973 with the sole mission of providing a helping hand. To continue Claude Pepper’s legacy, each year United HomeCare recognizes individuals and corporations who have demonstrated leadership and compassion for the elderly and disabled and inspired others through their actions. Through their generosity of treasure, time, and talent, South Florida is a better place for us all.
