DORAL, FL – The City of Doral in partnership with the Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM), is expanding the ‘Manolo Valdés: The Legacy’, exhibit with new monumental sculptures being unveiled at Downtown Doral.
To celebrate, the community is invited to enjoy an outdoor event on Saturday, March 20th, 4pm-8pm. The event will take place in front of the Doral Government Center and throughout Downtown Doral Park. Attendees will enjoy art, entertainment and free Trolley tours of other sculpture sites – tours must be reserved at www.dorcam.org.
The larger-than-life sculptures are masterpieces from renowned Spanish artist, Manolo Valdés. This historic event was brought to Doral with the support of Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez and the City Council to offer residents and visitors a cultural opportunity to safely enjoy art outdoors.
The monumental sculptures first appeared in Doral in December 2020 at several locations: Doral Central Park, Downtown Doral Park, MAU Park, Morgan Levy Park, Doral Legacy Park and Doral Glades Park. The exhibition in the City’s public parks are free to the public.
The exhibition will be on display until June 2021, with a number of programs organized around the exhibition throughout its duration, such as guided tours, educational programs for the students of Doral, public workshops and lectures, photography competitions, pop-up exhibitions, performances, and the publication of an special-edition book, among others.
