TEMPORARY Outdoor Dining Application

Due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Doral adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 2020-14 to aid in the economic recovery for restaurants located within the City. Pursuant to the ordinance, the City is temporarily allowing restaurants to have outdoor seating on a temporary basis, even when such seating is not currently allowed under the restaurant’s Certificate of Use and Business Tax Receipt. The City of Doral will temporarily waive fees for such applications. In the interest of time, the City of Doral will attempt to review and approve applications within 1-2 business days. Please review the checklist for requirements upon submitting an application. Once issued, please post the Temporary Outdoor Dining Permit in a common area where it may be seen upon inspection by any official of the City.  

Review Process for a Temporary Outdoor Dining Permit

  1. All Temporary Outdoor Dining Permit Applications must be submitted via email to Kenia.Palau@cityofdoral.com.
  2. The application will be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Department. 
  3. Once all necessary approvals are obtained, the Licensing Division will issue the Temporary Outdoor Dining Permit via email. 
  4. Code Enforcement may conduct periodic site inspections to ensure compliance.

Expiration
The Temporary Outdoor Dining Permit Application shall automatically expire on August 10, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m., unless such approval or permit is otherwise suspended, modified, amended, or extended in accordance with Ordinance 2020-14 or a subsequent ordinance adopted by City Council.

 


TEMPORARY Business Tax Receipt (BTR) Application

Due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Doral adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 2020-15 to aid in the economic recovery for businesses located within the City. Pursuant to the ordinance, the City is temporarily allowing businesses with an active/current Business Tax Receipt (BTR) to apply for a secondary temporary BTR who wish to expand their operations in accordance with the City’s Land Development Code. The City of Doral will temporarily waive fees for such applications. Upon the City receiving the application, the Occupational License Division staff will forward the BTR application to Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) for their review and approval. The applicant shall be responsible for any fees imposed by Miami-Dade County. In the interest of time, the City of Doral will attempt to review and approve applications within 1-2 business days. Once issued, the temporary BTR must be posted on site in a common area where it may be seen upon inspection by any official of the City.  

Review Process for a Temporary Business Tax Receipt 

  1. All Temporary BTR applications must be submitted via email to Kenia.Palau@cityofdoral.com.
  2. The application must be reviewed by the City of Doral Planning and Zoning Department for consistency with the Land Development Code Requirements.
  3. The City of Doral Planning and Zoning Department will forward the application to the Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM) for review and approval.
  4. Once all necessary approvals are obtained, the Licensing Division will issue the temporary permit via email. 
  5. Code Enforcement may conduct periodic site inspections to ensure compliance.
