The City of Doral Celebrates “The Week of the Young Child”.

Doral, FL – Mayor Boria and the City Council approved participating in the celebration of the Week of the Young Child™ in the City of Doral. The official week of activities takes place April 6th to 12th – however the City of Doral is beginning the celebration on April 1st at 10:00 a.m. with Mayor Boria presenting a proclamation to the sponsors of this event and welcoming approximately 80 children between the ages of 4 and 5 to City Hall.  There will also be a Pre-School Art Exhibit in the lobby of the Government Center that will be unveiled after the program. 

The City of Doral is demonstrating its unwavering commitment to early education by collaborating with the Doral Early Childhood Initiative (DECI).  “It is my privilege as Mayor and also a father and grandfather, to be part of “The Week of the Young Child” celebration. Let us passionately celebrate their week, their dreams, their present, and above all, their future.”

This annual celebration, established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), raises public attention on the importance of early childhood programs and services. Young children need and deserve high-quality early education that will prepare them to succeed in school and in life.

During the Week of the Young Child™ experts in the fields of childhood development, early education, parenting, and educational psychology will provide a variety of free workshops and webinars in English and Spanish to the residents of the City of Doral. Topics will include: parents and early education programs, developing emotional intelligence from early years, the importance of daily routines for young children, prevention and identification of communication, and dental health for young children.
