To improve our community by promoting a return to family values and fundamental principles, to stimulate pride in our City, to establish public/private partnerships to benefit the residents of Doral, to promote balanced growth and resident participation using innovative ideas, and to create efficient solutions that will alleviate the negative impact that traffic causes on the daily lives of our residents. These are the ideas that Adriana Moyano proposes for the City of Doral.

Adriana Moyano wants to serve in Seat #1 of the City Council and is grateful for the support that she received from the voters so far. “I feel that I have been able to convey my message of optimism and citizen development. I have been very clear about the fact that I am not fighting for obtain power, but instead, I am looking to help the residents improve their quality of life.”

Adriana wants to provide a balanced approach that will allow Doral’s residents to feel that they are represented on the Council.  This is why she uses the slogan: “To vote for me is to vote for you.” She believes that the voters choose a person that they can identify with, and the one that they consider is also best for the job.

Adriana was born in Colombia, where she specialized in advertising and marketing, and where she also excelled in the financial, educational and enterprise sectors. In 2001, after she arrived into the United States, she served as a Marketing Manager for an important legal firm, Ferrell Shultz and Associates, where she managed insertion programs for new immigrants.

Her professional skills also allowed her to work for important firms in the financial sector. Among them were: Corredores Asociados, Banco Santander, and Banco Caldas. In addition to being the founder and owner of her own firm, ENNOVACO, Adriana also established business with some of the largest companies in the food industry such as Goya, Iberia Foods Corp, and Promoting DSD.

After becoming a parent and a result of raising her two children, Adriana also became more involved in education. For six years, she served as an Assistant Principal of a school in our City. Now, she has the new goal of becoming a City of Doral Councilwoman, and feels assured that her professional experience has provided her with the knowledge and expertise to make the decisions that will benefit our residents and promote balanced growth for our City.

Adriana has not been previously involved Doral politics, and this may be one of her greatest strengths because she represents a new and fresh perspective for the City. She insists that she will bring innovative ideas that will enhance our future in the short, medium, and long term. “I really believe that my experience as an entrepreneur will be very useful while serving as a Councilwoman. During my 20 years of experience in the private sector, I developed a global vision that will allow me to create, incentivize, and promote real and effective solutions for the city and its residents.”

As many of Doral’s residents, Adriana arrived in the city searching for better quality of life, and that is the reason why she also understands the needs of immigrants. “One of our City’s characteristics is that it has a constant influx of people that come from other countries. I want to provide those newly-arrived residents with support. I know that I have the necessary skills to accomplish this goal because of the experience that I obtained while managing the insertion program at the law firm. Newly arrived residents need to know the laws in order to be able to comply with them, and we need to help them learn. If you educate them appropriately, you show them the way to citizenship step-by-step, and you also show them in a way that promotes participation, and allows them to contribute to the well-being of our community.”

As an entrepreneur, Adriana wants to promote public/private partnerships and has concrete ideas about how to create initiatives that benefit both sectors. “For example, the youth makes up 32% of the population in Doral. It would be very interesting if we can get the local businesses to partner with the educational institutions so that the teens are able to carry out their community service hours at companies who business is related to their field of interest.”

“This will be a win-win relationship. The business owner gets a benefit from the work and new ideas that young people can contribute, and the teen learns fundamental values, such as the importance of having a job. The teen also benefits from professional training, and from exercising responsibility and discipline. This will also provide teens with access to opportunities for future professional development, which in the long run, can also allow them to turn into productive business-owners.”

This is just one of the projects that Adriana has for Doral. She believes that as a Council Member, you need to be one step ahead of the curve. “It is known that an important part of the work of an elected official is to consider proposals for approval, however, it is also vital to propose new ideas that benefit everyone that spends part of their daily lives in our city, either as a resident or as a business-owner.”

The traffic congestion that affects residents and those that work in Doral will be a high priority for Adriana when she serves as a Councilwoman. She believes that it is imperative to work with Miami-Dade County authorities to implement solutions that will alleviate traffic and minimize the negative impact that it has on the quality of life of our residents. “I am focusing on improving quality of life for those of us who live/work in Doral and it is important that we find better ways to enjoy our city and its growth. We have made great strides in developing our infrastructure. Now, it’s time to continue enhancing these initiatives and implement programs that are productive for everyone. But, in order to achieve this goal, we need to engage the residents and have their participation and support.”

For Adriana, the work of a Councilmember cannot lose sight of the residents’ interests. “We need the people to get involved. We need to advise them to participate in the City of Doral’s programs, because we govern with them and for them. It is precisely this type of relationship between government and the residents that creates a culture of citizenship, which makes us feel proud of our City, and allows us to promote it as an example of organized growth, and as a model to be followed.”

An important part of my goal of creating better quality of life for the residents of Doral also has to do with a return to family values. “The truth is that given our daily work load and hectic lives, we sometimes lose sight of fundamental principles, such as spending time with family. I want to rescue that, and in doing so, I want to improve our community. I believe that community leaders should bring attention re-establishing family values and as such, help to unite our communities in a better way.”

Adriana Moyano asks Doral voters to participate in the electoral process on this coming Tuesday, December 13th, 2016. “This is an important step in working together for a better city, for the future of our children, and for the residents to be heard regarding government decisions.”

Adriana Moyano: “VOTAR POR MI ES VOTAR POR TI”
