What is the most pressing issue facing the city and how would you propose handling it?

One of the most pressing issues in our community is to continue upholding our quality of life, supporting our local and industrial businesses to safeguard their prosperity. As a nation-leading city, we are used to being a close-knit community and affording us a very personalized relationship with our neighbors, representatives, and public servants. This will ensure public participation in an organized and transparent manner and facilitate a financially feasible 5-year plan. The current plan the council approved this week guarantees a consistent level of service for years to come and considers our future needs.

How you’ll handle population growth in our city, especially with the recent arrival of illegal immigrants?

Due to the responsible fiscal leadership shown by the current City Council, our community will continue to attract new businesses and investors. Our City Manager is working on setting the lowest municipal tax rate in all of Miami Dade County. Because of this attraction, the City of Doral has become a cultural melting pot that allows us to enjoy a cultural richness that few communities get to experience. Thankfully, we have always managed to live in harmony and under enforceable rules of law. We will continue to appreciate being one of the safest cities in the United States, as proved by our crime rate and statistics.

Do you think the city should increase its police force? We have a professional, kind, and ethical police force. They are community oriented and continue to honor the name of our city through their invaluable service. I support an adequate police force for the demands of our city. We have experienced professionals leading our police force, and we trust their advice. We are one of the safest cities in the United States and I support maintaining this level of service. I am in favor of having an efficient, properly trained, and well-equipped police force.

A personal message to voters:

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve you. As your Vice Mayor, I humbly ask for your support to keep Doral on track and continue leading a fiscally responsible administration with a positive impact for our future. I will continue to prioritize improving our quality of life, including our parks programs, and supporting our local and industrial businesses. It’s all about you, it’s all about Doral.
