Pokémon Go fever is causing a frenzy all over the United States and it is literally everywhere. Apart from allowing the users to virtually capture Pokémon along the country’s streets, now it is also being used by political organizations, not only to catch Pikachu, yet also to inspire the young crowds to participate in the elections, as several activists are gathering at the locations where the Pokémon are found to speak to the players about the importance of the vote and how to register for voting.
This global phenomenon is making such an impact on the political arena that the presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are using Pokémon Go to reach their voters by inviting them to meet at certain PokeStops.
As we can see, Pokémon Go has reached every scenario and by following the lead of this popular game, Doral Family Journal, went all over the halls of the City of Doral trying to catch a Pikachu, Squirtle or a Weedle, but what we really found was far more interesting…Rather than finding monstrous creatures, we found characters, who from now on, we will see everywhere: the candidates for Mayor and for the City Council, who aspire to be elected this coming November.
The election campaigns of Doral already started and every candidate is doing its best effort to get elected by our voters, who will have in their hands the great responsibility of voting for those who will lead the destiny of the city for the next few years.
POKÉ-CANDIDATES WITHIN REACH
There are three candidates running for Doral´s mayoral election… Juan Carlos Bermúdez, who history backs him up as first mayor of the city; Luigi Boria, current head of the city who relies on the achievements of his term, and Sandra Ruíz, current councilwoman who aspires to become the first female mayor of Doral and who was also part of the founding team of the city.
The Doral council seat 1 is the most disputed of this election, with a total of five women and one man running to be elected for the post, all of them claiming to be prepared to hold the seat because of their social commitment towards the city and their own experience as residents. Council seat 3, currently held by Vice-mayor Chisti Fraga, is to be decided between her, who runs for re-election, and two other Doral residents who base their campaigns on their community service experience and assure they are the best option for the city of Doral.

La fiebre del Pokémon Go está causando furor en los Estados Unidos y está, literalmente, en todas partes. Además de que permite a los usuarios capturar Pokemones, virtualmente, en las calles del país, ahora también está siendo usando por organizaciones políticas, no solo para atrapar a Pikachu, sino también para motivar a los jóvenes a participar en las elecciones; Varios activistas están en los lugares de encuentro para hablar con los jugadores sobre la importancia del sufragio y cómo inscribirse para votar.
Este fenómeno global está impactando de tal forma en la política electoral que los candidatos presidenciales, Hillary Clinton y Donald Trump utilizan el Pokémon Go para llegar a sus votantes e invitarlos a la reunión en algún Pokéstop.
Como vemos, Pokémon Go ha llegado a todos los escenarios y Doral Family Journal, estuvo recorriendo los pasillos de la Ciudad de Doral para intentar atrapar a algún Pikachu, Squirtle o a Weedle, pero, realmente, nos encontramos con algo mucho más interesante… Lejos de ser unas criaturas monstruosas, son personajes que, a partir de ahora, veremos por todos lados: los candidatos para alcalde y concejales que aspiran ser electos el venidero mes de noviembre.
Ya comenzaron las campañas electorales en Doral y cada uno de los candidatos está haciendo su mejor esfuerzo para ser elegido por los electores, quienes tendrán en sus manos la responsabilidad de votar por aquellos que guiarán el destino de la ciudad en los próximos años.
POKECANDIDATOS AL ALCANCE
Tres candidatos optan por el puesto de alcalde. Juan Carlos Bermúdez, a quien la historia lo respalda como el primer mandatario de la ciudad; Luigi Boria, actual gobernante que se apoya en la labor realizada durante su gestión y Sandra Ruíz, actual concejal que aspira a convertirse en la primera mujer alcalde de Doral y que también formó parte del equipo fundador de la ciudad.
La silla Nro. 1 del Concejo de Doral es la más disputada de esta contienda, pues un total de 6 candidatos, esperan ser electos para este puesto para el cual todos ellos aseguran estar preparados por su compromiso social con la ciudad. La silla Nro. 3 que actualmente ocupa la vice-alcaldesa Chisti Fraga, se debate entre ella, quien opta por la re-elección y dos doralinos más que se basan en su experiencia comunitaria para asegurar que son la mejor opción para Doral.
