Miami-Dade County Public Schools Re-Opening Guide Now Available
DORAL, FL – In an effort to bring useful and completed information to families about Miami-Dade Schools Re-Opening, the district has developed a new resource called Reopen SMART/Return SAFE: A Guide to the Reopening of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
The 63-page document is posted on the district’s reopening website where it may be viewed or downloaded in English for now, although the Spanish and Haitian Creole versions will be available in the upcoming days.
The guide offers details about the models, processes and procedures related with the instruction for the 2020-2021 school year, while it also contains important information about the M-DCPS distance learning model, My School Online (MSO), and the Schoolhouse Model.
In addition, it includes information of student registration, student vaccinations, internet access assistance, bullying prevention, resources for homeless students, graduation requirements, and other useful information for the start of this new school year.
According to a media release of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, additional resources for families will also soon be posted online, including an updated list of Frequently Asked Questions, a Back-to-School checklist, and information on the district’s weeklong virtual orientation for students and parents and of the Welcome Week.
M-DCPS advices parents to keep their contact information updated at their children’s schools in order to stay connected and receive news regarding Back to School in this pandemic.
