Jackson West Medical Center Opens in Doral!
The new world-class facility brings cutting-edge medical services closer to Doral residents and surrounding areas.
On July 27th the City of Doral proudly welcomed Jackson West Medical Center to the community.
The President of the José Milton Foundation, Ana Veiga Milton inaugurate the Jackson West Medical Center accompanied by relatives and local leaders, among them, was Carlos A. Migoya, CEO, Jackson Health System; Flavia Llizo, Co-President & Chief Development Officer, Jackson Health Foundation; Eddie Borrego, CEO, Jackson West Medical Center; Cecil Milton, Honorary Benefactor; the Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava; the Chairman Jose Pepe Diaz, Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners; the City of Doral Mayor JC Bermudez and Doral City Council.
The medical campus will feature José Milton Memorial Hospital – a 100-bed all-private acute care hospital – adult and pediatric emergency room, state-of-the-art surgical facilities, diagnostic and imaging services, maternity care services, and specialty physician clinics.
The new facility is equipped with the latest technology and expert healthcare professionals to ensure top-level medical attention for all patients.
In 2015, Jackson purchased the property as part of the Jackson Miracle-Building Bond Program. In 2016, the Jackson Health Foundation received a $10 million donation from the José Milton Foundation in honor of José Milton, a well-known Miami developer who was passionate about Jackson after receiving treatment for a brain tumor and other health issues at the hospital. He passed away in 2013.
The new medical campus will allow Jackson Health System to expand its world-class medical care into some of the county’s fastest-growing residential and commercial communities. Residents in these neighborhoods, including Doral, Westchester, Sweetwater, Hialeah, and Miami Lakes will have access to Jackson’s services closer to where they live, work, and play.
The Jackson West Medical Center, located at 2801 NW 79th Ave., opened its doors to the public on August 2.
