Decisions were made in August to move projects and initiatives forward. Here are highlights from the regular Council Meeting.

Budget season is in full swing, bringing good news for City of Doral residents. The growth of the city and the recovery of economy have risen the tax base assessment to levels close to those of 2008, allowing the administration to propose a budget including the execution of long awaited projects for the community.

A Community Development District (CDD) is a governmental unit created to serve the long-term specific needs of its community.

The proposal for Architecture and Urban Development in Doral includes a total of seven projects, presented to the authorities by a group of Architecture and Industrial Development students from Mexico and Colombia grouped in the Miami Design Camp.

The award-winning Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Doral is composed of a team of twenty-four members, including Events and Programs Coordinators, Park Managers and Park Aides, led by Director Ms. Barbara Hernández;

Councilwoman Christi Fraga and MOEN awarded the “Christi Fraga Youth Leadership Award” to Belen Jesuit Preparatory School alum José Andrés Maguina (‘15).

The City of Doral Council members and key staff devoted the first weekend of June to the Strategic Planning Session, the prior and fundamental step to define the priorities for next year’s budget.
