City of Doral Takes a Stand Against Human Trafficking.
The City of Doral is committed to combating human trafficking and has taken significant steps to raise awareness and prevention efforts. To further strengthen these efforts, the City has implemented Ordinance #2024-30, which mandates that certain establishments post signage informing employees and patrons about the resources available to them.
Establishments Required to Post Signage:
- Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and other entertainment or food service venues
- Hotels, motels, vacation rentals, and other lodging establishments
- Specialty salons (nail and beauty services)
- Massage or bodywork businesses not owned by a licensed healthcare practitioner
- Urgent care centers and clinics
Signage Requirements:
- Must be prominently displayed in employee-related notice areas.
- Must be in English and Spanish.
- Must include the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline: 1-888-373-7888 or text INFO or HELP to 233-733.
Enforcement:
The City’s Code Compliance and Police Departments will enforce this requirement. Violations may result in fines of up to $500 per day. Citations can be appealed to the City’s Special Magistrate.
