Doral, FL – The City of Doral in partnership with The Rhythm Foundation will present the sixth annual Ritmo Doral on March 12 as a hybrid live/live-stream event from the Doral Yard in Downtown Doral. The free, family-friendly concert promotes the community’s cultural, diplomatic, business, and tourism ties.

We invite the community to tune in from the comfort and safety of their homes via: RhythmFoundation.com, Youtube.com/rhythmfoundation, or Facebook.com/TheRhythmFoundation.

The show kicks off with SON MANDINGA, a highly percussive group comprised of brothers Andrés and Guillermo Schloeter that celebrates the African-rooted sounds of their birthplace Aragua, on the North-Central coast of Venezuela.

Immediately following is GAFIEIRA RIO MIAMI, an 11-piece big band that fuses Brazilian samba, jazz, and funk in an irresistible update of the early 20th century Rio de Janeiro ballroom dance music known as “samba de gafieira.”

Gafieira Rio Miami is a new project created by Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian bassist and composer Diogo Brown.  The in-demand bass player has worked with renowned artists such as Laura Pausini, Buika, Nouvelle Vague, Julio Iglesias Jr., and Tony Succar. In 2021, Brown recorded with Gloria Estefan on her Latin Grammy-winning album Brazil 305.  Alongside Latin Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dr. Pablo Gil and Pedro Carrero, former principal trombonist of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Brown has recruited the best session musicians in South Florida.

Vocalist Preta Egy, who has worked with major artists such as Anitta and Ludmilla, adds the perfect feminine touch to Gafieira Rio Miami, delivering her powerful and seductive vocals to fresh new arrangements of Brazilian songbook classics. Gafieira Rio Miami brings this music to South Florida audiences with high-energy arrangements that will get everyone on the dance floor!
