Tropical wave – Will it rain this weekend in Miami?
DORAL, FL – Today and over the weekend, Miami-Dade county will have to prepare for another tropical wave as there is an 80 percent chance of rain. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with chances of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight.
Rain chances will remain elevated for Saturday with possible thunderstorms at night. The National Weather Service said widespread rain amounts could total 4 to 7 inches through Sunday across much of South Florida. Locally higher amounts are possible.
As a result of the tropical wave, floods may occur in several areas throughout Miami -Dade. Please drive safely, avoid speeding up and getting too close to the vehicle in front of you as the water coming out of the wheels can evacuate on your windshield causing your visibility to be lower.
Due to the rain, your car will have very low traction during a thunderstorm. This means it will take longer to brake and reduce your overall control of the car. Please use your brakes with caution trying to brake gradually.
Also, standing bodies of water may occur on the road during a thunderstorm. Drive through these with extreme caution, as just two feet of water can carry most cars off the road. Finally, don’t forget to always follow laws and instructions while in the streets.
