Christine Fraga said she will seek a position on the Doral City Council in this year’s municipal election on November 6. She is running for Seat 3, currently held by Vice Mayor Mike DiPietro.
Christi Fraga was born in Miami, FL to Cuban parents, who had immigrated to the U.S., in search of a better life. She attended St. Brendan High School, where she graduated with honors in 2005. Christi enjoyed competitive sports such as cheerleading and competed on a national Level with Miami Elite, where they won 5 national championships. After completing high school, she was accepted into the Miami Dade College study abroad program in Italy where she was given the opportunity to spend a semester studying the art, language and culture. In 2010, Christi graduated from Florida Internacional University with a degree in Finance. Throughout her collage career, Christi worked and lived in Doral.
Christi married her college sweetheart, Gabriel Fraga, in 2010. They enjoy living in Doral where they are currently working to grow their family and community involvement.
Christ currently owns and manages multiple small businesses with her husband in Doral. In 2008, they opened their first company, WM Plumbing, Inc… which services many residential and commercial clients in the Doral Area. In 2010, Christ put her financial degree to work when she oponed a management & small business bookkeeping company, South Florida Small Business Solutions, Inc., that facilitates small businesses an inexpensive solution to their business accounting needs. In 2011, Christi and Gabriel started their latest company, City Select. City Select is a community program that allows small businesses to come together and advertise to consumers, as a network. Residents can sign for a City Select Membership card free of charge, allowing them to visit local businesses within the City Select Network to receive hundreds of dollars in savings in return. The program was a way to stimulate the local economy!
Christi is not only an Entrepreneur, but she cares about her community and the businesses and families that make up that community. It is here, in Doral that she has grown up and transitioned into a young successful adult to begin her family.
Doral will always be a place she calls home. Her parents still reside in this community as well. It is this deep love for the City of Doral that prompted Christi to run for the City Council. “I have a desire to give back to this City, and my generation. It is time that they know that we can and will be the difference. It’s never to early to be that difference, and with my experience in business and my love for this community and it’s people, we can bring great things to this vibrant City”, states Christi.
Christi is confident that her recent experiences growing up in Doral will be valuable to the City Council as Doral continues to evolve. Her bright and bold approach on finance, business and family, will bring a successful approach to the Council, as well as her energetic spirit that will help lead Doral into the future.
