Why are #DoralCounts 2020 Census Workshops so important?

Every 10 years, the U.S Bureau conducts a census to determine the number of people living in the United States across the 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.

The census is much more than just a head count, it provides a representation of our nation that helps determine where to build new schools, roads, hospitals and businesses. Census is important because it determines how federal funding is distributed.

It also provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for you and your community.

The results of the census also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives, and they are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.

Learning what the 2020 Census is all about is key to help make sure Doral counts. A complete and accurate count is critical for you and your community, because the results of the Census will affect everyone living in this country.
