The Music in You… & Keep Those Goals!
Keep Those Goals!
By: Lucy Gonzalez
When it comes to fulfilling your dreams and reaching your goals, no matter how outrageous or unattainable those may seem, having the right mindset is the key to success.
We all have goals we want to accomplish. Simple daily goals like drinking enough water or keeping our screen time to a minimum can be reached with some thought and perseverance.
Other times, we have long term goals, such as sticking to a monthly budget or keeping a healthy diet, and those types of goals require more time and effort to succeed.
Yet, for some reason, setting goals and committing to them can feel overwhelming. For students, it can be especially difficult to stay on track with goals after a long day at work and school.
A positive outlook, however, is beneficial to reaching your goals. It can be as simple as this: what you put out is what you receive.
Good energy will bring you closer to your goals. Usually, creating plans and going over your steps to reach your finish line trains your brain to think in the right direction. Don’t get discouraged immediately if your goal seems out of reach or unrealistic.
Persevere through the hardships and obstacles and stay as consistent as possible. Next time you want to set a goal, keep in mind these tips and reflect on the things you can control, like your mindset.
Do you want to get a call back for your interview? Think you will get the job.
Do you want to change your eating habits? Create a plan and take it day-by-day.
Do you want to have A’s and B’s on your next report card? Apply yourself to your work and believe you can do it.
No matter how big or small your goals, you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to as long as you believe in yourself!

Quick! What is that song you can’t stop listening to right now? Chances are the catchy tune is stuck in your head, and you keep repeating the same verses over and over. Personally, I’ve been keeping “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” by The Police on repeat!
